2. THE UGLIEST DECORATIONS
are those vile blow up structures people put in their front yards with spot lights.

3. I have a snow globe in mine.
I love it. It actually 'snows' inside the globe.

We have white candles in the windows and little lit trees around the yard as well.

8. LOL. It is very cute.
It has three snowmen with blowing snow and the banner that reads 'Let it snow'.

Even though I am a person of faith, I tend to put out winter specific decor instead of Christmas. My most cherished Christmas decoration is a nativity I bought my mom when I was in college. I went to the store and put $5 towards a week forever.

It was one of her most cherished possessions, hence it is mine. I keep it up all year.

11. LOL we almost bought a Halloween one that had bats instead of snow. I was
saved by the fact that they were sold out. My husband really wanted it

4. Love this site
Can't wait to see what gets added.

I actually like Christmas lights, but only when they're done tastefully. I prefer lots of tiny white lights. What I can't stand is this trend towards those inflatable things. There is a house down the road from mine, and I am not exaggerating, it must have 40 of those damned things in less then a half acre. At night they're not so bad, but during the day when they're just lying in a heap on the ground, deflated? It just looks like you've got a yard full of crap. It looks junky. I may take a picture of THAT, and post it.

9. It gets much worse in the land of Disney
Sarasota had the ultimate display of tackiness. A family had completely lost control and apparently bought everything on post-holiday clearance every year, so over time their display grew to cover ACRES. The neighbors finally got pissed with the traffic and filed suit, so they finally took the mess to the county fairgrounds for a couple years, where it mercifully faded into obscurity. (Incredibly, even with the massive electric bill to run half a million lights and animatronics for a month, I think it was the fairground rental that made it unaffordable to continue.) We actually went once when it was still out in the country, and it was the most horrific mess of plastic lawn ornaments and lights assembled in one spot. They'd even attempted to create little montages, but really, once you've seen a family of plastic penguins playing hockey against a team of snowmen, you've seen them all. I wonder now if they're sorry they got out of the biz now that enormous, inflatable characters are the norm. They could have added a whole section and a bouncy house! We've got some losers a block over who seem to have an entire collection and change them out every frickin' holiday (new this year is a 20' Grinch climbing in the attic vent--he has to make do because few of us have chimneys in FL).

Honestly, I bet the majority of the photos on that website come from here. FL has truly become the epitome of tack. :eyes:
