Should I ask my new neighbors to remove all their crap from the laundry room?
OR should I ask the management to tell them to clean up their act?

Went to go do laundry and the only table and chair in the room

is filled with clothes. Washer has clothes in it and so does the dryer. :(

The clothes on the table were there a month ago when I looked at this apartment!!

I don't want to be the target of the people whom have been here a long time but

I think it's pretty rude of them to leave all that crap there.

How would you handle it?

9. I think I will on Monday.
Maybe she can send a letter to all the apts.

That way I won't be singled out.

Thanks, KitchenWitch!

apologizing but clearly stating that other people need to use the facilities too.

5. I thought about that but I don't know who owns what and
that would be a lot of work for me.

I did take the stuff out of the washer and put it on the table though.

I just hate being put in that position to begin with!

I mean, there's only ONE washer and dryer for all 8 apts!! :grr:

3. I think I'd just set it all aside neatly, and go about my business.
If the problem continues, I'd talk to the manager as opposed to confronting other tenants myself.

6. But the problem is I can't use the table and I need to use it.
I have no where to set my bag next to the washer so I can load it.

I have to hold it up with my left arm while loading with my right.

It's heavy!

I hate this stuff. :(

16. You can use the table if you take the clothes off of it.
I'd probably put it in a small garbage bag, or even an old grocery or paper bag. Just this once, not forever.

And seriously, if there is only one washer and dryer for the whole complex, I'd save it up to do all at once with several machines at a laundromat.

I just don't think I'd immediately jump to a confrontation with neighbors over it. But then, I hate confrontations and only resort to them as a last measure.

21. There is a W/D in each section of the building.
My section has only 8 Apts and one wash room. I live in the "deluxe" apts.

My side of the bldg has 4 Apts. and there are 4 on the other side.

The 8 share one laundry room and one W/D. I have no idea what the rest

of the people, in the middle part of this bldg, do. Don't care.

I'll get it resolved, hopefully, by Monday or Tuesday.

4. Do you need a machine? I take out the clothes and put them wherever...
Obviously they give less than a crap about them if they haven't come for them. I will do this as soon as a machine stops, no one is around, and I need the machine. All is fair in washing clothes with clueless people.

7. Yup! I have a TON of wash to do.
My washer broke the day before we were moving. :(

And now I'm stuck with this shit or I'll have to drag it all to a laundry mat. :(

Welcome to DU, xenu loves you!! Love the name!! :P

I had a basement in my old place with my own W/D.

I REALLY miss that now! :(

15. Looks like I'll have to do that too but my car is still full of stuff
from moving. I barely have room for groceries.

I was going to empty that out too but the temps dropped to below freezing and it was raining, so I haven't finished that yet either. Besides, I wanted my kid to help me carry the heavy stuff up to the 2nd floor. *sigh*

We'll get there, I suppose... before spring! :P

19. Just take the clothes and fold them.
Put them in something like a box, or plastic bag.

Place them in a corner.

You have every right to wash your stuff to.

20. I'm not folding anyone's stuff but my own. Instead, I dumped it on the table
with all the other crap that's been there for a month, at the least.

I got one load done. I need to do more but I'm going to wait til Mon.

I have enough to do without folding the neighbors clothing too! :P

Thanks! :hi:

24. When I lived in a apartment many years ago we had neighbors like that.
They would leave their clothes in the machine leaving it to others to take out.

One time their clothes went missing, but showed up a few weeks later.

That is all it took, they never left their clothes again.

Now, I am not saying it was me but things do happen.
