Guns N' Roses Threaten Legal Action Against Dr. Pepper
Axel you unmagnificent bastard.

Gun N’ Roses are threatening to take legal action against Dr. Pepper after the company “ruined” the release day of Chinese Democracy with its free soda publicity stunt.

As previously reported, Dr. Pepper promised it would give every person in the U.S. (minus Slash and Buckethead) a free can of soda if GN’R released their long-awaited Chinese Democracy album in 2008, which on November 23 the band did. In attempts to make good on its promise, the company told fans they could get their free can at the Dr. Pepper website on the 23rd, a move that led to several site crashes, a brief extension of the promotion and multiple complaints.

2. Yeah, it was the free Dr. P that ruined it
The suck-ass record itself didn't have anything to do with it.

8. Dr. Pepper has a use. It tastes good. It can be consumed.
'Chinese Democracy' has no uses. It's not useful as a means of torture. It'll drive them insane too quickly. You certainly can't listen to it for recreation. It doesn't even make a good coaster or frisbee. At least you can use them as a throwing weapon if Axel Rose ever shows up at your house looking for pizza bites.

11. About time! Axel is a talented artist whose credibility has been damaged
by Dr. Pepper's giving away free sodas... Okay, I've lost my train of thought. Let's see, Axel, talented... Nope, can't stop laughing enough to pull it together...

Dumb-ass Axel. The only way I even knew GNR was still around (sort of) and had an album coming out was because of Dr. Pepper's gimmick. I even listened to a clip and considered whether I wanted to buy the CD (I didn't) only because of DP. He should be paying them royalties. Except, of course, that I doubt he's getting any.

Axel was once good, while teamed up with Slash and Izzie. His voice was unique and strong, if a bit lazy for the most part, and they had a good sound, and their lyrics were better than people give them credit for. "Civil War" was one of the better protest songs on the 90s. But his neurotic ego killed what they had, and no amount of free Dr. Pepper can ever bring that back. On top of that, his voice has lost its character, judging by the clip I heard, so all he has left is a basic late-night lounge club band voice without enough left to even cover his own hits. He should do garden parties, or drive a truck.

Maybe Dr. Pepper could hire him to drive one of theirs.

Actually, it wasn't that bad. Just not that memorable, either.

Dr Pepper r00ls!

He's done done it now. He's fucking with my favorite drink now. As if talking shit about Kurt and Courtney wasn't enough. Psst! It was. I can't stand him anyhow, but now that he's fucking with Dr Pepper, he's on my Permanent Shit List. That's not an easy list to get on and there is no escape from it.
