Is there any kind of booze made out of maple syrup?
I was thinking about rum the other day. It's made out of sugarcane and molasses.

And it struck me that pretty much everywhere you can find sugar, somebody's turned it into booze- grapes, apples, wheat, potatoes, honey, etc.

So I thought it odd that while maple syrup is mostly sugar, I've never heard of maple syrup booze. Especially considering maple syrup comes from eastern Canada, and what else are they going to do with all that maple syrup over their 11 month winters?

3. Fermented maple syrup tastes like shite
It's no good in home brew of any kind.

You could probably make a tasty liqueur out of it though...
