Anyone here use/used Match.com?

I just joined Match.com after getting tired of being the dateless wonder. I am now having buyer's remorse and wonder if any of you wise folk have tales of good or not-so-good experiences there and would care to share....Thanks!

1. I used Spring Street Networks

Responded to one ad.

Married bliss followed a couple years later.

The person whose ad I responded to switched to Spring Street after encountering nothing but losers on Match.

2. They're bent.

I think they're crooked. False or long abandoned profiles abound, with the same ones found in multiple cites. I never received any messages until the day after they started charging for you to reply to a message. Suddenly lots of messages without profiles. I'm sure they originated from the Match.com office.

3. I've never paid for any services like that

but of the free ones I've used, my best luck so far has been with okcupid.com

4. After a nasty break-up a few years back, my roomie forced me to join lavalife

I had a lot of fun. Met some good people, some I'm still friends with even though the dating thing didn't go anywhere.
