I have had a no-good, horrible, very BAD day . . . .
it appears that I've had a run-in with either the *Hell's Angels* or *HA* wannabes on the freeway.

I was attacked - driver's sideview mirror broken and almost run off the road (my car came close to flipping over).

Day started out somewhat okay - had a pleasant morning at my favorite Farmer's Market - was a bit on the depressed side (my usual ups and downs).

Decided to head out to do some shopping and . . . . BAM!!

I'm through (I think) crying and shaking now.

Filed a report with the CHP.

dayum!!!!!

18. i feel physically awful right now . . . .
headachy, shaking - just want to go to bed and pull the covers up over my head.

not going to though, going out to the gym and hopefully that will help to soothe the nerves.

thanks so much for being in my corner.

8. Apparently . . . .
doing 80mph in the fast lane wasn't good enough for them and I wasn't able to move over fast enough.
One guy came around my side (mind you it was on the shoulder next to the dividing wall of the freeway) came about 2" close to my front fender and cut in front of me - others swarmed on the right side and I couldn't do anything but hit the brakes and swerve my car as the first guy kept cutting in and out in front of me.
There were about 40-50 of them. I guess they had the *pack* mentality and their testosterone got the better of them.
I managed to call 911 on my cell, but, alas was unable to get any license plate numbers (gee, wonder why?).

I'm sorry you had to go through that. Oh well, at least you didn't have to eat lima beans and wear railroad train pajamas.

How dare they? Wish I'd been there, although I probably would have jumped out of the car and chased them (fat lot of good that would do).

31. I did . . . .
I pulled over to the side and waited for the Highway Patrol to arrive.
Made an incident report and then went on to Toyota to start the ball rolling on getting the mirror repaired.
Will call insurance tomorrow.

sigh.

21. I was driving alone through the Grapevine Pass, in my 20's, in a Toyota Celica...
Edited on Sun Nov-16-08 08:07 PM by KC2
Seemingly, out of nowhere, there were Hell's Angels on all sides of my car-- front, back, and both sides. I didn't know what to do, so I just kept driving. I looked straight ahead, ignored them completely, and kept driving at exactly the same speed (in exactly the same lane). Eventually, a good 1/2 hour after it began, they simply sped up and went on their way. I'll never understand why it happened & what reaction they expected out of me. I asked my younger sister about it, since she has a lot of biker friends (including Hell's Angels who call her 'sista') and she just laughed and at me. (I really did not find it amusing). Recently, another friend of mine told me "Oh, they (the Hell's Angels) were just playing with you." At any rate, if by some rare coincidence you ever see them on the road again, I'd suggest remaining as calm as possible. Not speeding up or slowing down.. and *never* *ever* slamming on brakes. Can you imagine if one of them hit you from behind, after you slammed on your brakes?!?! eeeek.

Please don't get me wrong, I am not saying this is your fault... not one bit. I'm saying I know - first hand - how frightening is.

I'm sorry you had to go through that. Especially with everything you've been through recently.

24. it was freaky . . . .
i had to slam on my brakes because one of them kept weaving to the driver's side of my car and then speed up to the front of my car and slow down - i don't know what the hell he thought he was doing .....

and to top it all off - i'm driving my little prius and am an old fartess.

WTF???????

26. Trust me on this one. Do *not* slam on your breaks in that situation...
I know exactly what they were doing. It's like some sort of test, or something. When push comes to shove, they will *not* let your car hit them. They know the math.

How'd they do this?

30. Trust me on this-a bike is not gonna stand up to any car--even a compact.
Edited on Mon Nov-17-08 12:23 AM by davsand
Those bikers are WAY more vulnerable than you are in your car and they know it. You might dent a fender. If they get hit by a car it is gonna "leave a mark" because they don't HAVE fenders and bumpers.

I always kinda figured it would be wicked fun to be in that situation in a car and start swerving erratically. Kinda like mobile bowling. You could maybe rack up points depending on style and how spectacular the crash was...

But that would be wrong.

34. Ahh, your homicidal instinct comes out!
Can you imagine what a badass you'd be consided in your town if people watched you walk by and whispered "There goes davsand, she wasted 10 Hell's Angels in self defensive vehicular homicide. Don't fuck with her"

37. Aw hell, they all think I'm nuts anyway.
Can't say my image would suffer (or improve) any if I DID take out a few bikers in a fit of self defensive road rage. I am the one house in the neighborhood where if anybody gets hurt in my yard, triage is a matter of asking "how much arterial bleeding is there?" We are not exactly Ward and June--ya know?

If anyone did find out I was homicidal I think it would probably be a matter of, "I KNEW it!!! That woman is just not RIGHT!"
