1. My dear Hypno!
You're back!

How wonderful to see you...

You have been missed, big time, sweetie!

And to answer your question: Not just no, but HELL NO!

I don't drink that stuff, ever!

21. It is VERY good to see you too!
Thanks. :)

Convalescence, wellbutrin, finding a proverbial road to walk on, then walking it. I had to find my way. With luck I will remain tempered compared to the past.

2. No Coke Rewards
Why would I drink a Coke product without getting rewarded with 3 points. Seems like bad marketing to me.

3. We drink it now...
Laz is allergic to Nutrasweet. It actually tastes a bit "sweeter" than regular diet Coke, but not that much different. It also does not have as much of a battery acid aftertaste. The consensis is that it tastes more like Coke than Diet Coke, Diet Rite or Shasta Diet Cola.

YMMV if you like it or no. Some people like the taste of cola and battery acid (isn't that what Tab tasted like?)

4. Yes because I cannot drink NutraSweet, it gives me headaches. Besides,
Hansen's diet root beer is sweetened with Splenda and it is THE BOMB.

5. To me Splenda has a terrible chamical aftertaste. I have tried it several times, and
I won't use it any more.

7. Splenda is safer than Aspartame and Sacharrin
It is the only no/low calorie sugar substitute that seems to be considered safe for pregnant women. I currently drink it in Kool Aid and have been throughout my pregnany. I don't believe that it will hurt me or my baby.
My husband has been drinking Diet Rite products made with Splenda. They don't taste good to me. I don't normally drink Coca-Cola so I probably wouldn't drink it with Splenda regardless.

8. If you have the option of adding a sweetener where there was none before
(like unsweetened Kool-Aid) then try Stevia Leaf. You can get it in both liquid and granular form, it's a truly all-natural sweetener and used throughout the world that way. However, because of how corporations control our government, the FDA was mandated to allow it to only be sold as a "dietary supplement" in the good ol' U-S-o-A. So, you'll have to ask at health food stores if they carry it and where it's stashed. It leaves no chemical aftertaste and is safe for diabetics.

25. Ironically, Coca-Cola is lobbying the FDA to change this...
I will definitely go for a naturally-sweetened Diet Coke!

Coke, Cargill team up on new sweetener
What's this?
By Harry R. Weber, Associated Press
ATLANTA — Coca-Cola (KO) plans to use a new calorie-free sweetener in some of its products in other countries and is hoping at some point to get FDA approval to use it in its products in the United States.

22. Ah, not much of a fan of it, I see...
I don't blame you; it does have a phony sweetness to it. Like "The Brady Bunch" but in a bad way, or like "Madonna's Sticky and Sweet tour" on equal terms... :scared:

12. Sadly, Coke Zero tastes better than Diet Coke with Splenda
Though Coke Zero is a blend of Splenda and Nutra Sweet, which is a neural toxin invented by Donald Rumsfeld (no I'm not kidding)

Once in a great while it won't kill you, but I wouldn't drink any US made Coca Cola product on a daily basis, including "regular" Coke with High Fructose Corn Poison.

I rarely drink Coke at all anymore, but when I do, it's usually the Mexican and/or limited release "Kosher" kind both of which contain only cane sugar.

13. No, I don't like that artificial crap.
I don't like the Coke with HFCS either.

There's an international store near me that sells Mexican Coke, it's made with REAL sugar and tastes great.

15. Sure, when it's around and on sale...
Splenda might (and I emphasize "might") cause problems because of the way one of the chlorinated compounds is metabolized, but no one's come up with any proof one way or the other.

I prefer the taste of Splenda to anything other than real sugar, and even if I liked the HFCS they put in the non-diet stuff, I can't drink it because of it's glycemic index.

Saccharine, BTW, does not seem to be the evil it's been called, and those lab rats yeears ago that got cancer ate like half their body weight a day for a month to get sick. For my coffee at home I get little bottles of 1000 saccharine pills at Wallgreen's-- 2 for 5 bucks.

I have a lifetime supply of Stevia here because the four large containers of it I got from Puritan's Pride taste like ass-- harsh and a terrible aftertaste. Might be the the dextrose or whatever they cut it with, and I've had the same problem with some I've gotten in health food stores. The only one I liked was the stuff I got from Trader Joe's, but last time I was there they were out.

(If you're not diabetic, just forget ANY diet stuff and eat or drink less of of the good stuff. Diet foods ain't gonna help you lose weight.)

I use Splenda too - weird tasting, but I don't wish to keep any more lard inside of me than I already have...

Better than aspartame...

If it's supposed to be the same as sugar, why do I get a rash?

18. I haven't touched artificial sweeteners since the mid-80s
when aspartame gave me crushing headaches. They really put the fear of GOD into me. I am very wishy-washy on dietary self-improvement matters but artificial sweeteners scare the fuck out of me.
