but for 7 years I've avoided being TSed.

....carried over when they upgraded so it only shows 2003 but I still remember some of the ooooold threads, non-existent forums (like Foreign Affairs). I used to kick notes back to Keph, who I had a DU crush on at the time. I miss that guy, really intelligent and always on top of breaking news- which made DU better, in most ways, than CNN. I'm pretty sure it was his thread that was the first I read about the WTC after seeing a building I didn't recognize explode on telivision (I was watching Little House on the Prairie and they cut in just as tower 2 collapsed).

  Man, that's a rocky memory lane.

I always have kinda assumed that there were/are folks here that have been here in multiple incarnations for whatever reason. I think that is just the nature of online communities. DU has always been such a unique community that I think the people that are drawn to it initially will probably stick around-including the disruptors.

I always kinda of wondered about all those tombstoned personaes we have--do you suppose they are mostly just a few folks who love to hang out here and stir the pot?


Oh--and I've been here long enough to qualify as a fossil. June or July of 2001 is when I got here, I think...
