Okay, where's the UW Huskies fans? Ty Willingham is staying on through the season? You're joking!

We held University of Washington Husky season tickets for fourteen years. I dropped them when the UW hired Ty Willingham. The tickets not only spiked, they instituted an additional per-seat charge as well, and we were the recipients of a fundraising letter I found one of the more offensive pieces of mail I've ever received.

What is it that this guy HAS over the UW? What on earth does he think he's going to do over the next five games? On top of it, what's he doing to the college careers of his team?

GrrrrrRRRRR!

1. Not much of a fan anymore because they suck!
How much was the additional per-seat charge? What are tickets up to these days?

3. At that time, if I recall correctly, it was an additional $150 per seat
We were already paying $75 per ticket per game. It was more than we wanted to fork out, especially since we couldn't GIVE our tickets away for games we couldn't attend.

The last Huskies game we attended was last November. The tickets were four for $100 in the end zone, and that included food.

It's going to take awhile to get the Husky faithful back into the stadium. We loved going to UW games, but man, it's hard to even comprehend that season ticket holders are paying a fortune for $75 face value tickets when the team's 0-7, with little chance to see a win this year at all.

2. So you're saying I could probably get some cheap tickets?
I might as well check out the scenery when I move up there. :D

Also, I bet Seahawks tickets are cheap too.

4. Huskies tickets, yeah, Seahawks tickets, probably not
Huskies tickets are REALLY cheap outside the stadium, and it would be a good time to get on the season ticket holders' list. You'll probably be able to get some great seats.

Seahawks tickets? Uh, no. There's a several-thousand-person waiting list for season tickets. We already have some of the cheaper tickets in the NFL, so even buying tickets for single games will cost you at least twice face value. People want to go, losses or not. We finally went to our first Seahawks game in Qwest earlier this year. It's absolutely addictive!
