15. She'd better knock it off
Unless she wants Type II diabetes. Happened to my ex who always had a sweet tooth. Sugar is crack.

20. It is my crack. I have more sweet stuff in my house than you can imagine.
I prefer Easter candy to Halloween though. They need to make Robin's Eggs for Halloween. I don't know what they are waiting on.

8. Too old, buy your own damn candy
like the rest of us.

I think any kid who is old enough to baby sit is too old to T or T. Anybody that old should be going to or hosting their own party, as someone else said. While you can be too old to trick or treat, you're never too old to dress up. ;-)

21. i was told that past 8th grade i couldn't trick or treat...
and i think that makes sense. It's so obnoxious when older kids go trick or treating. Just buy your own damn candy.

23. I always give out to older kids, heck I give out to parents that dress up.
I even keep a stash of dog cookies for any pooches that people bring with them.

I think it depends on what's common in your area. Are people receptive to the idea? There was a time around here when it wasn't as common for the older kids to go around, but the last couple years I've seen plenty of kids 16-17 yrs old dressed up and getting candy.

24. age 12, trick and treating is for kids, LITTLE KIDS
what the hell is wrong w. a 16 yr old they are so friendless they are not attending a halloween party instead? if common sense won't stop the teen beggar, maybe peer pressure and shame will?

i really don't like it when kids much above age 8 come to my door, fortunately this doesn't usually happen in my neighborhood

25. Well, I think 16 was the last year I went trick-or-treating, at which point I was about 5'8" and 180
I don't remember getting any dirty looks, but I think I did have a sense that I was seriously outgrowing this whole routine.

That's our rule, anyway. After that, they get to invite some friends over for a Halloween party of sorts.

27. 21 is too old to beg for candy
My team in Berlin would T or T for beers. The guys in the barracks would dress up (since we were all soldiers, dressing up like civilians was acceptable) and knock on the doors of our married teammates' quarters..."Tricks or treats, beers or eats." Great fun.

29. probably
I remember one time when I was in highschool, a friend convinced some of us that we should try and go get some candy.... I don't even think I was 16, like 14 or 15 maybe, and some people really chewed us out for trick-or-treating. I felt like a tool, but that was to be expected - I knew it was a bad idea in the first place.
