I think my new antivirus software is a virus
It conflicts with a lot of my existing software, especially Firefox and it creates these massive log files that cause my hard-drive to get 20% - 30% fragmented daily.

2. Trend-Micro Internet Security Pro 2009
I've used their older versions before and never had these problems. Maybe it's still in beta and they just wanted to rush and get it out.

The "lwf_log.txt" file today is 4,479,392 kb

3. Might want to check all your options settings
It may be keeping track of everything instead of just actual threats. I never did like the all-in-one internet security packages. They have a tendency to become bloatware instead of staying lean and mean. I prefer to use separate antivirus, antispyware, firewall, etc. applications.

I know that my AVG, Spybot S&D, Advanced Windows Care and Ghostwall don't do anything like this.

4. That and...
...they are looking and blocking a lot more crap out there now than they had to 10 years ago. I too hate all the extra crap they put in there and next year when it's time to renew I'm going to go back to separate applications. That's got to give you better protection too if the apps. are separate and can't get corrupted at the same time.

The only option you can set on this version is to delete the log files every 7 days at the minimum. It's on medium security by default so maybe if I bump it down to low it may keep the size of the logs down.
