Thirty pounds of heirloom tomatoes still green on the vine.

Frost warning for tonight only. Otherwise sunny and in the fourties to sixties for another ten days.

1. I would just cover them
since it's one night, but I'm not a master gardener either...

tomatoes continue to ripen on the branch, in fact, they continue to ripen just sitting on a shelf, so if you "wrap em in plastic" and then it's colder than expected and the plastic doesn't help, you've still saved some

i call it hedging my bets

3. We had our frost last week. I picked most of mine, but covered one really loaded
tomato plant that's still producing quite well. I keep good sized heavy plastic sheeting for covering. The rest of the tomato plants weren't in good shape, so the tomatoes on those got picked. Pepper plants are loaded yet with buds and with various sized peppers so they got covered too.

In past years, I've had tomatoes from the garden still ripening at Thanksgiving.
