(Let me preface this with a: :sarcasm:)
First of all, don't get married.
If you do get married, be sure to keep up your appearance so you can seem "available" to other men.
In your working life, always keep in mind that regardless of your qualifications, there's nothing that a little wink and a touch on his arm can't do for you.
If you're married, keep an eye open for younger, less qualified (unmarried) women... there's a chance they will be handed your promotion.
When you reach your 30's, worry a little; in your 40's, worry a little more; in your 50's, you can forget it - even if you're an attractive, qualified woman. You will get overlooked.
When you reach your 30's, be sure to have your career in order. In your 30's, no one will be willing to give you an extra hand. No one will be willing to help you progress to the next level. No one will be willing to mentor you. Otherwise, if you're in your 20's - START NOW and get all the help you can!
Are these the rants of an embittered woman in her 30's? You betcha, Charlie! But some of it is unfortunately very real for many women in the workplace.
