What's for dinner DU?
:hi:

Tonight I'm making Linguine "Carbonara"

The quotes are b/c a true Carbonara doesn't contain garlic or peas.

And oh man, I'm going to gain about 20 lbs eating it!

1 lb Linguine
1 lb Bacon, chopped
4 eggs
8-12 cloves Garlic
1 large onion
2 cups Chicken Stock
1/2 stick of butter
1 1/2 cups Parmesan
1 handful Parsley
2 Tbs. Black Pepper
1 1/2 C. Peas

:9

:hi: How about y'all?

And I have all those ingredients (even the garlic and peas).

Alas, we are having broiled chicken breast, pasta and asparagus, a yummy glass of wine and probably some pie for dessert.

14. Yummy! Thanks for the recipe bicentennial_baby.
Today I went to the supermarket so my fridge is full.

I think I'll go for a big steak with mashed

potatoes and some vegetables (I haven't decided which one).

I know it's not very original but after 10 days of

mac and cheese and hamburgers its a big luxury for me.

Tomorrow it will be more elaborated.

I have boneless chicken breasts.Do you have a good

recipe to recommend ?

21. Same as last night
protein-oriented pasta

1/3 my usual amount of spaghetti, some Paul Newman's O8) Italian Sausage sauce mixed with about twice as much beef from some chili I made the other day. It's forkfully delicious! And nicely spicy! With Parmesan!

34. kinda sorta
I've been sick since last friday, and didn't leave the house from that night until yesterday afternoon, because I had shit scheduled that I shouldn't have missed - I'm not all feverish and ache-y anymore though. I hope this means that I have hard-core immunity from something nasty now, because I can't afford to be sick starting in a few weeks - my shit's jam-packed from mid October till December.

37. TJs semi-convenience food: chicken sauage ravioli and pesto tortellini with pesto alfredo sauce.
My usual TJs "oh, what the hell" approach of buying a few things that look like they'll go well together, and combining them for a single meal.

I will be making a nice heirloom tomato/basil/artisanal buffalo mozzarella salad to go with it, though, so I am doing a little actual work in the kitchen.

46. Pasta and salad.
The salad has that elitist arugula stuff in it and homegrown tomaters.

Pasta sauce is a made up thing -- 2 cups of fava beans in olive oil with 5 chopped garlic cloves and 1-2 teas crushed red pepper, sauteed for about 5 minutes or until the favas are done, then set aside.

Pasta (linguine) will be tossed with basil garlic paste (i.e. pesto without the cheese and nuts)then topped with the favas and crumbled goat cheese.

Comfort food. :hi:
