Dear Burger King - 1980 called, they want their concept back
So, I went to BK today for the first time in years and it HAS NOT CHANGED since I was a kid. All they've done is darken the shade of red on the "china." You know, you go to McDonalds and they have fireplaces, newspapers, the lil' tub ketchup dispensers that are better for the environment and they at least try to show some class. When you go to BK it's like ketchup in the packets still, no newspapers and a gross lookin' decor. So, they just don't seem to give a shit.

BK, you be banned.

26. They've done it here in the sticks too. I guess it all depends on which restaurants were
either most recently built or lucky enough to be in line for redecorating?

18. Here neither. They remodeled the McD's here, and it's nicer than it used to be.
But I was STUNNED when I went to the one up by my Dad and saw the fireplace and flat screen TVs. :wow:

Ours does have newspapers, though.

9. You lost me when you equated class and McDonalds.
The bk food is terrible. Their adds are bad. I am given to understand their business model is bad. their ethic is bad.

But when you equate McDonalds with class, thats when things somehow went terribly awry.

17. Burger King is excellent
Whenever I go once, I end up there several days in a row. There's nothing comparable to the Whopper in fast food. My only complaint: the dollar menu is no longer a flat dollar on many items, like the value shake and double burger, and the french fry containers are smaller than they used to be, particularly the medium value meal.

McDonalds is dirty and always has bums hanging around, at least here in the Las Vegas area.

Plus, their food is grotesque in appearance and taste.

30. Our BK went from 5 finger shaped chicken tenders on the dollar menu
to the 4 crown shaped crappy chicken tenders that are not nearly as good as the old ones were. I miss those. I also miss that Angus Steak Burger and the Chicken sandwich (I can't remember the name but it involved grilled chicken and honey mustard sauce) they discontinued recently too.

29. Micky D's is as expensive as a sit down lunch at a diner where I live in Buenos Aires...
locals shrug at me when I make fun of the snazzy McD's they have going on...they call them McCafes. Also, considering the 3 to 1 peso to dollar valuation, it's JUST as expensive to eat a Big Mac here as it is in the US. Combo meals are 20 pesos, a little less than $7 US. Boggled my mind lol.

14. Wait, McDonald's has class?
I take the opposite view: a McDonald's with hardbound books and bad art on the walls is still, for crying out loud, a crummy McDonald's. You only stay there to eat because you need to be protected from the elements and/or use the restroom. Burger King understands this and doesn't engage in pretentious effrontery.

28. I wish I had taken a pic of Al's Auto Transmission's sign...
Al's moved into a Burger King decades ago. This particular store still had the old neon sign with a king sitting on a burger. But Al's clevery reworked the sign so it would look like a VW Beetle. It truly was brilliant. Unfortunately, it still looked too much like a Burger King sign, and the franchise sued Al's to have the sign disassembled.
