15. You should try being named Joe... Odd story.

I had a friend who was a cop named Joe, and I go by the name Joe professionally (as much as you can call anything I do professional). So one day we were working together, and I showed up late and was making a dash for the counter, and he, dressed in full cop uniform, yells out "Hey Joe, where you going with that gun in your hand?" and I yell back, "Going to shoot my old lady, caught her messin' round with another man."

A couple of people literally ran for the exits!

16. Yeah, Stevie Ray was a gifted student, and could match Jimi on a good day, maybe

but I still don't think it was close. Hendrix's creativity was off the charts. Both had tremendous skill, but it was still always master to a pupil. I don't know technical guitar lingo, but when I heard Hendrix, he was always ahead of everything else, even years later. Stevie Ray was just brilliant at what was already there. If that makes sense.

I agree with what your saying, but I'll add that I think where Jimi had the creativity to bring sounds to life that never existed before, Stevie took those sounds and polished them. I think Jimi's vision was more dynamic, but Stevie's soul was more intense.

My brother once asked what single song I would want if I was marooned on an island. When I told him I'd pick Voodoo Chile by Stevie, he was amazed that I'd pick Stevie's version over Jimi's. I replyed that it was no slight on Jimi, I just think Stevie played it better.

His "Voodoo Chile (Slight Return)" is more exciting than Jimi's, IMO. But only barely.

Vaughn was the better guitarist and singer, but Hendrix was an amazing composer and performer.
