I just came back from "Passion of Jesus Christ"

It fascinated me about all the church groups that were going there. I wonder if they'll be sending their youth groups to see the remake of 'Dawn of the Dead'. Becuase all this was is a rip off of Faces of death. The only difference is that it was a dramatic rip off of the murder of Christ. The only thing I see coming of this film is increased Anti-Semitism or violence towards jews and other non-Christians.


If you have a different faith than the freaks that were crying in this theatre, I suggest you keep your powder dry:(

2. I got a different message from it

I recognized in the behavior, the policies, and the sadism of the Sanhedrin the neo-conservative Christian right. This is not, as a critic recently pointed out, an anti-Semitic film ... but is very anti-Sanhedrin. Hmmm. I remember an old friend, a Franciscan, who once advised me over a bit too much wine ... "Embrace the growing Christ. As the for Christians, lovingly detach and let them fuck themselves." Twenty years later I still consider it sound advice.

My mom wants to see this and is bugging me to go see it with her. Neither of us are Christian, but she wants to see it anyways. I'm also not interested in being in a crowd of over emotional "Jesus Freaks" and I would prefer to see it when the crowds die down, if at all.
