Oh deer

I had to share this cute moment just I saw out back.

The players: One 7-month-old brown tabby kitten, one mama doe, two fawns.

Mama doe and two fawns are nosing around under the bird feeder when kitten spots them. Kitten slides out of the flower bed where she'd been lurking and does the belly stalk towards a fawn. Fawn takes an interest in kitten and walks towards it with ears perked up. Noses almost touch. Kitten suddenly realizes that this thing is bigger than she is and starts to back up. Mama doe notices kitten bothering her fawn and walks toward kitten. Kitten rushes back to the flower bed. Mama doe sticks head into flower bed. Tactical mistake. Doe suddenly jumps about ten feet into the air and runs for the woods. Fawns follow.
