Today I adopted this lil Lady ** dialup warning**
From the East Texas ARF (animal rescue foundation), her birthday was on 9/3 and she is 3 years old. We have a pup in the house already. Along with 2 cats. I simply could not pass Lady by, all I could think of was how much she looked like an older, bigger version of Archie, our pup at home. After no more than an hour in my home she and Archie are napping together like mother and son.

1. Awwwwwww!
That's criminally cute. Now if I can just convince my 14 year old cat that the sweet stray tabby that's just adopted me is not the Spawn of Satan...

2. How sweet! I love Archie using Lady as a pillow!
And the photos of them trekking around the yard together are wonderful.
My friend's dog, Amp, looks like a member of your doggy family! My son and I dog-sit for her sometimes.

13. Hey...you got Archie a bud!!!!
See how nice you are? :loveya:

Diane wants a second dog to keep Fluffy company.

Oh, a Dryer Kitty is gone. They took her to the vet and she escaped from there and they never found her. I knew I should have taken her. Gizmo, the lone survivor of the great Coyote Feast, finally had his number called and got eaten , so they were down to no cats for the first time in decades. So Mookie got a new kitty. :)

14. Poor Dryer Kitty
I am sorry to hear about her and Gizmo. I just can't imagine that house without kitties in it.

Diane should get him a playmate. So far it has been a big difference for Archie, the big test comes today when we have to go to work.

15. Would anyone know how to find out her age/breed
ARF told me she is 3 but her facial fur(more white/silver than tan) and slow walking suggests otherwise. I am also guessing she is some type of terrier. Yet she doesn't have the short snout of terriers. Her snout looks more the shape of a wolfhound.

I'd love to know so that I can watch for problems of any type for her breed. She is such a sweetheart that I would hate for her to suffer in any way because I did not know of problems prone for her breed.

Glad you all found each other.

18. What a happy story..they look like family
and they seem to feel that way too. I'm very happy for you. I am so bummed about bicentennial baby's experience that it helps to see a success story. Still can't get that kitteh's picture out of my head.

19. Fantastic! We've adoped two 3-year old dogs
They have been the most loveable, loyal dogs imaginable. Lady's expression looks like our dog Gordie's did on the first day we brought him home - as if he'd died and gone to heaven.

21. She does have that look
She keeps walking around looking/sniffing everything a million times. After every trip around the house she walks over to me and just sits and looks at me with such a joyful look in her doggie eyes. I know I made the perfect choice in adopting her. I have a feeling we will be life long best buds.

22. Yep! The only problem we had was that the first weekend
my SO went to a baseball game and left the window open - Gordie tried to follow him (he was already so attached) and jumped out the window after him! (he got picked up by animal control, thank God and we got him back the next day). So my only caution would be to make sure that she can't get loose to try and follow you. That was just a one-time thing (and after my SO went back to the shelter and rescued him again, Gordie got even more attached!)

Good luck. I love the picture of Archie running after her.
