Why doesn't CBS, ABC, etc have high def?
Just got high def satellite and found out that half of the channels didn't have it.

1. Because...
In high def their bullshit propaganda is less effective?

ABC must have it because when I download Lost it says something like

"HDTV" in the corner of the screen.

2. They do offer it...
it might not be available in your area, though. We get a lot of the other channels in HD...but not NBC, CBS or ABC, even though I *know* they're HD channels. The local ABC affiliate's local news just went HD and they've been crowing about it for weeks. It's just not available to me 'cause I haven't gone out and spent even more $$ on a HD antenna to pick them up.

4. There's no such thing as a "HD Antenna".
Your profile says Colorado Springs, CO. What you need is an antenna that's good for the VHF channels, since ABC, CBS, PBS and NBC are on digital there.

http://www.antennaweb.org is a good place for a conservative check of what you can receive in your location. For me, they reckon I need a good outdoor antenna for a lot of my channels but my set top amplified antenna works just fine for me for all but two channels. They say I need an ultra-directional, amplified outdoor antenna for those. I can "get" them but they're unreliable. I tried the 80902 zipcode for you; indoor antenna should be fine.

3. It's probably your provider.
I get those channels in HD, through my local cable.
