so i find it much easier not to attack people on spelling as there are so many other important things to attack them on...we all screw up sometimes...

6. Well there's spell check...

..and there's no reason to take it personally. Spelling does count, especially when it affects the meaning of what you're trying to say.

8. I'm just saying that it's not an intelligent idea to attack people...
based on thir spelling. Some people just can't spell and we all mess up sometimes. I even mess up and i was in the National Spelling Bee. A lot of really intelligent people can't spell and a lot of unintelligent people can spell. The purpose of these boards id to discuss and meet people, not to attack...

and this wasn't an attack on you and I really don't want this to turn into a huge flamewar ...I'm just giving my POV

:hi:

10. Well if you chose to participate in a text environment...

...certain things come with it. That's what I'm saying. And again there's no reason to see it as an "attack" if it's pointed out nicely. We all owe it to each other to try our best, that's all. Some people spell poorly because they are too lazy to try, others because they have dyslexia, others because they type too fast.

I'm just tired of everyone feeling entitled not to be "offended" and assuming that it's okay to spell college as "collage" without someone nicely point out that that's not how it's spelled.

16. I've never had a college prof who wouldn't work with me on
things, once they could see I was (intensely) interested in learning everything I could and doing my best. It took me 35 years to get thorugh school because I got married
at 19, had two kids, one with special needs, got divorced, then had to raise them on my own while working. So here's my advice: just do your very best at all times and
for goodness sakes forget the guys until you get your bachelor's. If you do that, and finances don't become an issue, you will graduate, I guarantee it!

23. Have fun and a tip
You will find that instead of a normal six hour high-school day that you will probably have only three or four hours of lecture per day. Time management is crucial. Try to think of it as a 8-5 job. Make use of the time between classes to study. Go to a library or someplace quiet to study. Not wasting time during the day will free up time in the evenings and weekends for fun. Don't forget to have fun!

This is pretty cool too: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cornell_Notes">Cornell note-taking system

Good luck.
