KG computer qestion of the week - is there a way to send a fax from my location
using my computer. something in ms word .doc format.

i have hi-speed cable. someone want me to fax my resume, but i dont have a way to do it here.

1. It's not easy anymore. If your computer came with a fax card
you can plug a phone line in it and send a fax out that way. There are also online faxing companies that would allow you to send one, but there is usually a small charge.

2. no land line anymore. that's why i was curious if there was a way to use my comp and cable

6. thanks. i've save that page. i'll probably just go down the street some place.
it's not a big deal, i was looking into it for future reference also. i'm thinking about working from my home and want to avoid having a land-line.

4. Vista - ugh!
and my opinion of vista is that it runs ok, but they made unneccesary and annoyng changes to the GUI.

7. From the internets ...
Windows Fax and Scan, available in the Business, Ultimate, and Enterprise editions of Windows Vista, makes it easy to send and receive faxes, scan documents and images, and share those items with others-right from your computer.

If you upgraded from XP, Fax should be there, else you need one of these to have it built in.

9. it's home premium. no fax and scan but there seems to be some 3rd party stuff out there.
