Stone me, I forgot to send some bucks to DU, and I lost my star!
Can someone get my credit card out of my jacket pocket (in the front hall, hanging on the coat tree) and bring it out to me on the screen porch? One of my legs isn't working real well right now.

...Anybody?

...Nobody?

Ah, no problem; Mrs R will be home in a few minutes and we'll get this star situation fixed, and damn soon. Besides it being The Right Thing To Do, the conveniences of donating to DU are well worth the cost.

8. My homework. Or would have, if I'd had any. The thing that ate my memory was
the four concussions. (NOT the drugs, really!)

9. I have a choice, now. I have $100 to spend in contributions
(I am poor trust me, but mostly happy). For the sake of the future, should I give it to Obama/Biden, or DU. I am conflicted.

18. How about $33 to each of those two plus $33 to the innocence project?
You could use the left-over dollar to buy yourself one copy of a particular newspaper that you normally don't read.

The "innocence project?" Details, please, either here or via PM, please.
It sounds like something worthwhile.

24. Ah, thank you. That's a project definitely worth supporting, especially given that you
read articles in the newspapers pretty much once a week about people who have been wrongly imprisoned, and only exonerated after SUCH long periods of suffering, because they simply DIDN'T DO IT.

A worthy cause, indeed.

13. If you have no star you'll make it up to the DU by viewing ads. Ads, ads everywhere.
That is what I do cause I am short of cash.

15. I did notice the spike in ads since my star went away. Being pragmatic, I can't argue with
the concept of "donate, or suffer through all the additional ads."

That is a realistic business model, and whatever business model works to keep DU running and thriving is a good one in my opinion.

People tend to not understand that Internet content is not actually "free." There's work that has to be done to keep sites like this one up and running (and usable), and someone has to be paid to do that work.

Nobody's brought me my credit card yet, so I guess I'll have to wait until tomorrow to square my accounts with DU (dang, I don't like it when I can't walk). But if you send me a reminder via PM, I'll ask them to allocate some of my donation tomorrow to provide a star for you, OK?

19. Did I ever mention that you're a peach? Hey, I've hammered the pain into submission with
liberal applications of hydrocodone and methacarbamol (Robaxin), so I think I'll be able to sleep now.

Tomorrow will be a better day. I can feel it coming.
