Here is a pic of our kitteh ... Scout
he is 9 years old and a rescue (he was a stray who showed up at our door when we lived out in the boonies in Iowa).
He has not grasped the fact that he is feline not canine (we had 2 dogs at the time... now we have 3 and 1/2...we get my mom's dog a lot to babysit)
Here is a pic of 2 of our dogs and my mom's dog - he is in the pool being told to bathe. Our collie mix - Ed - is the brownish dog and she (yes she... even though her name is Ed, my husband got her before we met...long story) is part of Scout's death wish
Ed is our alpha dog.. she is a 13 yr old rescue (hubby rescued her 2 yrs before we met... whole litter had been taken away from owners due to abuse and starvation, and the litter was going to be put down that day... even though my hubby was in college and poor, he had to save one so he picked the one who came to him.... when I he told me this I knew I was gonna marry him). Because she was starved as a puppy she always has been a bit assertive around food... not aggressive to people (you can stick your hand in her dish, take her food away and she just looks at you like... why?) and not really aggressive to dogs.. if they come too close she lets out a warning growl and they back off.
Except kitteh, he will stick his whole head in her dish and munch a little when we start feeding and she lets him... we are shocked.
So that is part of his death wish.
Part 2: The other night he was on the floor sleeping next to Ed who was also on the floor... I catch movement out of the corner of my eye and see Scout with the fluffy tip of Ed's tail between his paws and in his mouth and he is rolling on his back. Fortunately for him, Ed was asleep... she has a spine issue and is in pain so she has some meds that knock her out.
Last nite was death wish 3: Again, he and Ed are lounging on the floor and I see his paw go and start lightly swatting Ed on her big collie nose... she snaps at that little paw and he stops. But like a child seeing a shiny toy, he can't help himself... I watch him lick his paw then slowly start to stretch it out to her face again, then he stops and this repeats with Ed every now and then giving him this look of "are you insane?". She got up and sniffed him - probably to check if he had been hitting the nip.
Poor Ed... she has had to deal with shenanigans from our pets:
Here she is at the ripe age of 2 when hubby and I first started going out and shacking up... she is wrestling with our other lab mix Lienie (not pictured in the above pool photo).
When he was a puppy, Lienie would 'stalk' Ed... then leap on her head in full puppy RAWR, she would then shake him off and look at us as if to say "who is this crazy pup" and once I caught Lienie smacking Ed in the face with a pr of hubby's undies... she was not amused.
Now, clearly she is a patient dog even now, despite her age and the pain she is in... we are at that point of is she in too much pain or not, soon we will have to put her down but as for now she is still frisky and playful. And if Scout really annoyed her, well she would let him know.
But our cat is soooo odd... he has a fetish.. when I brush Ed and clean the clumps of fur off the brush, he grabs the fur and rolls in it and rubs it all over himself. What the heck is that about.. I mean he is in kitteh heaven..just rolling and batting at the fur.. I know that is why he went for the tail.. he can't resist her fluffy goodness.
