Can't remember what kind it is... but when chickens are first hatched they have that yellow color cause of the yolk they've been eating... and so he's supposed to be a baby one of those. A giant one. :D

9. Well Big Bird is voiced by a woman...
and I think it's a woman in the costume as well.

Plus "bird" is slang for woman in the UK. :P
