I've got a great job that pays me better than I thought I'd get paid for doing what I'm doing.

But I know of three local campaigns that are looking for someone to be staff. For the kinds of races that I'm interested in, "local campaign staff" means one person who spends 70% of their time going door to door for their candidate, 20% preparing materials for other volunteers or the candidate, 5% strategizing and 5% bickering with the candidate whether to go with a blue on white color or red on yellow color scheme. You also get paid nothing if you're scrupulous, a couple hundred if you're a college student and anything above that if you hate democracy.

However since I hate myself I want to do it again. I did it for a couple years and loved it, but that doesn't pay bills or pass classes. You can do it if you have a full time job, but then you basically better be best friends with the candidate and not in school because the campaign will take up all your non-sleeping free time, as well as some of that too.

BUT IT'S FUN!

Arg.
