I am kinda shooting for September 1 to have baby Bella. I will be 38 weeks then. Will I make it? Will I go all the way to 40 weeks? What do you think?

It is a guessing game!

Uncomfortable, anxious, swollen, etc... and you have oppressive heat to boot. I feel for ya.

I went 5 days past due date and it was the LOOONGEST 5 days of my life.

I hope you are comfortable and get to meet your beautiful lil girl as soon as you can. :)

14. Do you watch "My Name is Earl"?
There was an episode where Joy was pregnant with the surrogate baby she was carrying. The couple wanted ALL natural and she went 2 weeks past due date. She spent a whole episode trying to induce labor. One of the funniest shows I've ever seen on all of TV.

22. That's the truth. For the last month or so I wished that I could just put
my belly on a shelf overnight so I could get some sleep. Or maybe have a good friend who would carry it around for a while. Either one would have been wonderful.

I love it!! Not for you, though! I sympathize most deeply!! I can't imagine being THAT pregnant in this Mississippi heat! Of course, I'm a dude, so I can't even imagine actually BEING pregnant at all, anywhere!

Is this your first?

Maybe we'll get lucky and have a cold snap (yeah, right). "Our version of fall" doesn't happen until about December!

Yeah, being 9 months pregnant in August in Mississippi... I don't know what the hell I must have been thinking! Miserable is about the only way to describe it.

4. I went past my due date twice
Two weeks the first time before I was induced. Two weeks the second time before I went into labor. Third time was scheduled. You just never know. It's an exciting time for you. It will seem to last forever though! Heh.

Good luck!

17. I did 44 weeks.
Most doctors won't even "let" a person go that late- a friend of mine was recently induced at five days after her due date, and naturally wound up with a section. But I had a midwife, so as long as my tests came back okay she was willing to wait and encouraged me to do so.

24. THAT was uncomfortable.
LK was 24" long at birth, and I'm shortwaisted. I had bruising of all the muscles right under my rib cage, because my abdomen was trying to push up farther than there was room to go.

was my due date with my youngest. He arrived on 9-6.

You have my sympathies about the heat. I was huge during the summer too. Texas heat was horrible that year.

Take it easy and enjoy all the pampering you can get! Congrats! :bounce:

27. I'm an early-Sept. baby, and my poor mom was very miserable in
August, too. Near Palm Springs, Ca., 8 months pregnant in 110+ heat. And for some godforsaken reason, my dad INSISTED on going dune-buggy racing in Mexico in July, and for some completely incomprehensible reason, my mother went along with it. I guess the infatuation of early married life, or pregnancy-induced insanity.

29. I was pre-eclamptic with super high blood pressure with both of my boys, so
I got induced. I suppose you could get induced too if you want to go earlier, but it makes more sense to let baby come out when she's good and ready. LOL

That's so exciting.

My first (my son) was eight days past the 40-week mark. With my second, I thought, okay, this one will be earlier. Nope. She went 10 days past due. :)
