| Question: Black comedy about the "trolley problem" |
|
I was thinking on how to do a dark comedy parody of the "Trolley problem." My idea? Have a cartoon character standing next to the fork in the track watching a group of five young guys getting drunk on the straight stretch of track. Suddenly a runaway trolley approaches! Character notices he is standing next to a switch and that the other fork has only one person - an old man - on the track. He flips the switch, hoping that only one person will die instead of five.
But alas, after smashing the old man to smithereens, the trolley continues at high speed, and loops around until it is hurtling at the five guys from the other direction. It hits them, killing all, then gradually comes to a stop.
=======
Could this be made into a good comical scene?

Perhaps if the five guys could be shown to be real assholes, or if they have time to yell a "thank you," congratulating your hero, before the comeuppance.

...Only to find out it wasn't worth it after all when the trolley loops around.
