I don't find most prank calls in the least bit funny. They usually target some poor working slob who's forced to try to be polite in order to keep some crappy job - the guy taking orders at the Pizza Palace, or the cashier in the Chinese restaurant. These people have enough headaches without having to deal with some jerk poking fun at them.

Find a way to make the CEO or CFO of a corporation, who makes the rules and has more money than God, look like a pompous idiot and then I'll laugh.

But gratuitous cruelty toward someone who's never done you an injury? People should have outgrown that by middle school. An adult who acts like Beavis and Butthead is not cute.

Of course most loungers have more class than that. In fact, I would say that ALL loungers have more class than that. My thread title was entirely tongue-in-cheek.

As far as being the recipient of a prank call being harmed...I guess I don't see it that way. We are ALL subject to this type of humor in life, not just the "poor working slobs".

I feel that juvenile humor has a place...and I went to see the Beavis and Butthead movie as an adult.

I thought the clip was hilarious, not because a prank was pulled on someone, but because Frank Rizzo is a parody of people that I actually know in real life. The caller is the individual who is ultimately funny here, and not because he pranked someone...but because he is a parody of an idiot.
