| A question on what to do with mail we are getting that is not ours |
|
I've lived in my current home for 10 years now so it's not a matter of just moved mail forwarding. But today we got two envelopes from the Treasury department with what looks like 2 US Savings Bonds. The address on the front is our address but the name is someone who we don't know...in fact it isn't even the name of the people who owned the house 10 years ago.
Clearly someone got these bonds as a gift or something and they deserve to get them but we have no idea how to do that, what should we do? Anyone had similar experiences?

| 1. Call the Treasury Dept and ask them. |

This is in no way the first time this has happened.

write "return to sender" on the envelope and put it back in the mail. The Treasury Department will get it and do whatever it is they do in these situations.
