I picked a zucchini from the garden this afternoon
and left it on the kitchen counter.

I just now noticed that there are cat claw marks all over it.

WTF?

1. Someone using it as a scratching post?
Consider yourself lucky it's still there. I have two canine gardeners who love fresh tomatoes, peppers, et al.

2. rofl
They wanted to make sure they put their mark on it so you would know that they are "permitting" you to eat it.......
This is why I love cats, even when getting into trouble----They are such goofs...
