HTML in signature help needed.

I don't see a DU site geek forum, so I thought I'd try here. 
I want to get a link anchored to an image in my signature,
thusly:

src="http://aflcio.org/issues/politics/images/__right_mccain2.gif"

As you can see, I'm not getting there yet, is anyone familiar
with this incantation?  :shrug:

1. a href doesn't work on DU

try the 

[link:www.someurl.com|content] style.

However, I'm almost positive that embedding an image in the
content portion does not work.

Before the divider, skip the "http://" and post the destination there, after the divider post the pic link.

Don't use any quotations
