Isis - 'Oceanic'
WHY THE HELL did I wait so long to hear this album??? It's like hearing classic Metallica at 14 all over again! That same sense of epic, crushing grandeur.

1. Isis are amazing.
I'm not much of a metal fan, but I adore post-metal. Pelican, Tusk, Neurosis, Old Man Gloom, Swords...so good.

I've liked them since I picked up 'Times of Grace' back in high school. That stuff also reminded me of 'Master of Puppets'-era Metallica, in the sense of pushing the boundaries of its genre while kicking ass at the same time.

Isn't Old Man Gloom a side project of at least one Isis member? Or am I getting mixed up here? Either way I should check them out...

One guy from Converge (who aren't post-metal, but man do they kick ass) and a few other bands that I'm not sure about.
