Close call with a blender.
We bought an Oster 14 speed blender a few weeks ago after our old blender finally quit.

A few minutes ago Miz t. walked in as white as a sheet and shaking.
She was holding her right hand in her left.
"That #@%^%# blender has a serious design flaw!"
"Holy...are you OK?"
"Yeah, it's not bad, but it scared the crap out of me."
There were a couple of (happily) small cuts on her right middle finger.
I went for a Band-aid.

See that small button in the middle of the switch?
On VERY close examination I found it's labeled "Pulse".
Miz t. had the blender on the edge of the counter.
Turned it off to poke the breadcrumbs back down into the blender bowl.
With her finger.
OK, d-u-m-b.
Evidently her tummy hit the pulse button and WHAMMO!

Well, now we know.

1. I hate when I get
blood in my breadcrumbs.

Glad it was just a scare and not a trip to emergency.

Got Miz t. meat in 'em.
When she smiled I was relieved.
I hate getting my ass whupped at the cocktail hour.

5. Much like a new Chef's knife, apparently new blenders also
require a blood sacrifice. The worst is over! :D

7. The Gods and Godesses are pleased.
Bless-ed be their names.
Which shall ne'er be spake.
Or possibly spaken.
I'm never sure which.

6. my wife made me a smoothie once ..
she used a wooden spoon to push down the fruit and chopped up the spoon. I got to work and there was wood chips in it.

This is the same woman that sent me to work with a broken glass salad.

Women.

9. That is a stupid design flaw.
I'm about ready to replace my old Oster and I will need to avoid new ones with that switch. That's not a good design for a klutz like me.
