Lounge! What's for Dinner!
Oh boy, oh boy!

Mine is veggies from the CSA (Community Supported Agriculture)

We're having stir fry:

Snow peas, and garlic scapes (blossoms) from the CSA,

with red onions and gulf shrimp, seasoned with Schezuan peppercorns

over a bed of Texmati rice

:P

12. Avocados, a perversion of the Aztec word Ahuacatl
Which means the fruit, of course,

but also the shape for which it is named - the testicle.

Ahuacatl = testicle.

:rofl;

33. Kroger™ brand "Mild Italian" sausages.
And in my defense, I gotta say that the various "store brand"
products are just SOOOO much better than they were when I was a kid.

We were fairly poor when I was a kid, and I knew we were poor every time
we sat down to dinner.

My "rich" classmates' Moms made spaghetti with Hunts™ sauce, and that
crap tasted like canned tomatoes.

My mom saved 15 cents by making spaghetti with "store brand" sauce,
and that crap just tasted like the inside of the CAN!

But those days are long gone. I gotta tell ya, I'm pretty impressed
with the quality of the "store brand" products these days.

My palate has come a long way from Polecat Hollow. I've had some folks
who have traveled the WORLD eating at 4-star restaurants tell me
that I'm a very good cook...and I have a lot of "store brand" products on my
shopping list every single week.

That "store brand" stuff is just soo much better than it was back in the 70s,
pretty much across the board.

And the once-rare TRULY PREMIUM stuff (MuirGlen™ canned tomato products, for example)
is becoming so commonplace, there's less and less reason to bother with
the old "Name brands".

If I want GOOD canned tomato sauce, I can buy store brand and introduce it to my spice rack.
If I want GREAT canned tomato sauce, I can walk 3 blocks and buy Muir Glen.
(And if I want WORLD CLASS tomato sauce, I can wake up early on Saturday and
buy some amazing tomatoes at the Farmers Market- they don't cost much more
than the cheap canned crap these days)

39. sounds delicious...
We are definitely doing a CSA next year - we had to find one that would work for us as far as pickup, etc.

I did go to the farmers market this morning and brought home fresh dill, baby bok choy and sugar snap peas....

Mr MB is grilling up some salmon and I am going to make a dill sauce for it. The bok choy is going on the grill too :9

40. Lessee...
I grilled a mixture of vegetables consisting of Red and Green Bell Peppers, Mushrooms, and Onions, I also grilled some Chicken Breasts that had a mixture of Peach Preserves and Sweet Onion Relish brushed on during grilling.

To say it was good would be one hell of an understatement.
