I'm sitting here, put pen to paper
the first time in months, words work
wrapping themselves around white pages
Nothing seems relevent for a topic:

I got a haircut, it's not new.
I might have a roommate,
but not if
I can't find a new job.
I might have a girlfriend but
I'm not sure I want her,
she scares me. You can't fuck up like
I fuck up a lot
and keep someone interested
unless she's crazy.

17. Here is one from a few months ago.

By the feeble lamp that sloshes dishwater gray light into the murky room, I am handstitching something.
I spool out every memory of a kiss, and all the lusts with their worn out faces,
and the shape of all the fingers that have traced me on a mattress.
I make bad seams. It is already rent. I keep my needle busy.
I touch. I was touched. Make me warm.
When I'm done I shake off the loose threads.
All I have when I'm done, a waxy brown butcher's paper around a small wooden bird.
