Tonight's Beer Flight: We hit Denver, San Juan Capistrano and Chico
Starting with

Oskar Blues Old Chub Scotch Ale

Yes, good beer DOES come in a can. I am very impressed with Surly and Oskar Blues' canned entries. Naysayers, I challenge you! This stuff you can taste the malts, the smoked peat and the finishing hops. An awesome beer!

Capistrano Honey Pale Ale

Crap. Pure crap. Avoid this shit. Tastes like movie popcorn with that fake butter shit.

Sierra Nevada Bigfoot Barleywine

Now this is what I'm TALKING ABOUT!!! Full of malts and hops! The malts make this a very sweet Barleywine, the hops add bite and bitterness to it all. Very happy at 9%.

2. oh, man, I love bigfoot!
You're a lucky man to be having that. I remember when I first had it about 10 years ago, and was completely blown away, both with the fantastic taste and the insanely high alcohol content.

3. Heretic.
You keep drinking out of metal tubes, and I'll keep pointing out your apostasy.

4. More props for Oskar Blues!
Their stuff is great. My favorite (sitting in a glass by my side right now) is Dale's Pale, also from a can. Hop fans can pop a can of Dale's and stop looking -- it's hopped out and delicious.

Fantastic beer from OB.

6. There's a pretty nice park.

My late grandmother lived in Magalia. I like it better up there- prettier country.

One of the great downtowns ever. At least one bar has a dollar drink night every night of the week. The best free public pool anywhere in Bidwell Park. The park itself is really incredible too with many little areas that are so different. Great place to bicycle too.... And two great brewers with Sierra nevada and Butte Creek. Sierra nevada is a great place to visit, great food, beers you can't find in stores and a fantastic room. Great concert venue also.

They also have a great community radio station there too....Music in the park on Friday night.....

9. That shit is sneaky.
I got tore up on that and some kind of chocolaty dark beer that was also crazy high in alcohol at a party last year.
