Can you miss someone when they're not even gone yet?
Edited on Mon Jun-09-08 02:09 PM by redqueen
I seem to have mastered that talent.

:wtf:

edit: Just to make it plain how loony this is - they're not dying or anything... they'll just be out of touch for an undetermined amount of time, so it's just that I can't talk to them for a while.

1. My dear redqueen...
Oh, you sure can...

I call it anticipatory grieving...

It's tough to get away from...

If you know someone's leaving, or dying...

10. What's wrong with being greedy
for someone you care about and wanting them with you?

Khash.

12. Aww... thanks.
I hate being greedy though. I feel so ungrateful for what I already have.

But I can't help it!

2. Yes.
I used to think about losing MrG, and also my dad, and bring myself to tears. Whenever I am visiting a loved one, as soon as my plane lands/car arrives, I am thinking about how sad I will be in 7 (or so) days.

6. Aw...
I wonder if I'd do the same while traveling. I hope to find out someday.

3. Yep.
CAPeggy said it best. It's like you're trying to protect yourself from hurting, so you're doing it now to get it over with.

7. Eh, I think hurting is a strong word.
I'm being greedy is all it is, I think.

I want more. And I want it NOW! :P

8. Sure
You start missing them before they're gone. And even if you know they will be back, it changes nothing - they will still be gone.

Khash.

14. I'm so used to talking to them every day.
I feel like I'm gonna explode with the mindless BS we usually chat about.

19. I miss him and he is still here
Let me tell you how much.

I'm sitting here with my best friend Charlie right now and my heart is being ripped out because I know he won't be here next summer. I'm not sure how long he has to live.

Charlie was dx with Bone cancer about three weeks ago. For now the pain pills are helping him.
He is still eating and playing with the cat but day by day the cancer grows.

He will let us know when his time is near, until then I miss him and he is still here.

Charlie is 110 pounds of Rottie shepard mix. He's 8 years old. I'm sorry that we can't have more time together. Your thoughts are appreciated.
