1. My dear Lady Freedom...
Oh, you are a sweetheart!

It's really nothing...just a little blip on the radar of life...

Thank you!

I feel better already...

4. There are circumstances in my life that I have no control over...
And every now and then, these make me sad...

There's nothing I can do...

There's no way out of it, or around it...

I normally don't talk about it, but today I let it slip...

Just so you all know...

I thank all of you for being here for me...

6. I Came to That Realization Just Last Night.
I learned that no matter how much I want something to happen, I don't always have the power to MAKE it happen.

I'm also grappling with the old adage...."If you love someone, set them free". Sounds so simple, and yet nobody ever mentions the heartache that comes with that philosophy.

Whatever your troubles are, Peggy.....know that you're not alone.

From one coast to the other......

17. My dear Peggy...
As I tell my daughter,
sometimes the secret to life is simply:

One foot in front of the other.. keep going..
tomorrow is another day.

Or as my husband says:
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
the courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference.

Do what you can, and let the river flow.

7. Something I read last night...
...from "You Can If You Think You Can" by Norman Vincent Peale:

At a luncheon I noted that a friend of mine had the habit of drawing diagrams on the white tablecloth to illustrate points he was making. He was talking about a man who had it tough but who was tougher than his problems and who, because he wouldn't quit, came through finally to a spectacular outcome.

The diagram was of a man facing an enormous mountain. "How is he going to get on the other side of that mountain?" my luncheon companion asked.

"Go around it," I replied.

"It's too wide."

"OK, burrow under it," I offered.

"No, it's too deep. Here's the way. He rises above it mentally. If a man can devise a mechanism that can fly forty thousand feet high - above mountains - he can come up with a type of thinking that can lift him above any mountainous difficulty. Just think, don't get emotional, and hold to the basic principle that it's always too soon to quit."

That passage helped me deal with some blips I have on my own radar right now (or ripples in the pond, call them what you will)...so those are the good vibes I'm sending to Peggy. Not "advice." Just some wisdom that helped me personally and might be useful in the moment.
