If I hadn't walked into this particular PetSmart...
...I never would have found our beloved Morrissey. I just realized we got him 3 years ago today! We never go to the PetSmart at Irving Mall, as there's one close to our house. Bullwinkle925 was visiting, and we wanted to go to Old Navy at Irving Mall, and on a whim we strolled into that PetSmart and found this cutie patootie:

Happy Anniversary, little Morrissey - we're so glad we found you!!

3. Thats what I LOVE about Petsmart, they don't sell cats & dogs.
The DO however have rescue cats in the store up for adoption. I have always wondered why they don't have dogs in need of a home in there as well. I always add the dollar when I go there, I wish I could help them all. Thank you Petsmart & THANK YOU DeposeTheBoyKing for giving Morrissey a loving home. He is a cutie pie!

4. You're right - I only see cats there unless there's an adoption event on a weekend
I always add the dollar, too. It just breaks my heart to know there are so many unwanted animals - I'd take them all if Mr. DTBK would let me!

9. Mine in Tennessee sometimes has dogs.
In fact, they had them in on the day I adopted my younger cat.

10. The one in our city has dogs on weekends
A local rescue shelter brings them in for adoption, and every once in a while they have a tent set up in the parking lot for more rescue animals. They have a permanent setup inside for cats from the rescue shelter.

Petsmart seems to be one of the good guys. They even take care of their fish, which is rare among chain stores from what I've seen.

6. Morrissey purrs his thanks
And I just read your post about Kittimus. I'm glad you have the little beasties and their unconditional love. They don't know how much love they give back to us, do they?

8. What a handsome lad!
We got our Jasmine (my familiar) at PetSmart too, around nine years ago. I haven't got a digital pic to upload, but suffice to say she's Morrissey's negative twin--all black with green eyes...and those green eyes are so round she tends to look kind of ditzy, like she's always thinking "...whuuuuut?" But we love her.

The vet/adoption agency that supplies the pets to that branch said that she was found with her mother and sister, wandering around in the fields near the vet. One of the vet techs adopted the mother, and someone took her sister from PetSmart. Mr. MG saw her first, and called me at work to tell me to go check out the black kitteh at the store. When I got there, there were two black kittehs. I wondered which one he was talking about...and then one of them hissed at me. Not that one! Jasmine let me hold her like a baby and started playing with my hair. I was completely sold from that moment.

She turned out to be quite the mouser, too.
