I haven't been around much these last couple weeks... beginning with some sad news about a dear friend, but ending with a nice few days with my future family-in-law.

So anyway, just wanted to say hi. :hi:

20. Hi Sally!!!

It was a very productive weekend. My veggie garden is now completely planted plus we added two new huge flower bed areas. One is a mixed wildflowers and an annual cutting flower bed and the other is full of perennial butterfly and hummingbird favorites. Mr GM has promised to take care of the watering and weeding while I'm out of town this summer. It will be a huge jungle full of ready to enjoy goodies when I return home in August!

36. No, that is just a very small section...

of the 300+ acre field that runs behind our land. Soon we will have a wall of feed corn where the lawn ends and I won't be able to watch the deer grazing or the coyotes and fox slinking around until after harvest. :(

in western Ohio. When I first visited there, I was blown away by just how far I could see! Being from a place with hills, and roads that have curves, and such. :D

We were there this weekend, and the rows of tiny plants just poking up into the sun was beautiful in its own way -- although part of me aches to think how it looked 200 years ago!

I've had a crazy couple of weeks... I found out all at once that a friend was very sick and also missing. It's been a very hard thing to process and I'm still having teary moments... luckily Iza has been a total sweetie. I'm doing fine, it's just a lot of worry to handle all at once.

it's just a big hole in the ground right now.. but soon it will be ready for measuring and filling and pictures :D

We have thin forest strips around but we're really in the city, which is why I want to make the little pond up on our hill. I've got good feelings about the amphibians.

I had a pet salamander once. Found him (her?) under a log in the bush in my back yard.

Never knew that to feed the damn thing.

Of course, it ended tragically for the salamander.

I'm ashamed of it even to this day.
