Mad, passionate crushes - I simultaneously love and hate them.

Le sigh. I am somewhat consumed right now.

Why do I do this to myself?

Sometimes I think it would be much easier to be asexual. :P

1. It might be easier.
OK it would be much easier. But it would be so much less fun.

Having lived caged in a passionless existence for a long period of my life, I can tell you that the alternative is better, even with the mania. Ride the wave, for better or worse. The most miserable low day in a mad crush is so much better than the worst day of trying to repress and smother your heart.

Enjoy it. :)

One of these days I will have to tell you about my big "crush" (well its a bit more than that) and how absolutely impossible it seems to ever fulfill....x(

8. 'Easy' usually coincides with 'not interesting'. :P
Kind of reminds me of that old chinese curse, "May you have an interesting life." :)

10. They make life worth living though.
Edited on Mon May-26-08 11:00 AM by Chan790
and a lesson I learned lately...you should act on them. Seriously. Sure rejection sucks, but a meaningful connection with another person can enrich your life forever, even if the relationship doesn't last that long.

Anything worth stressing over is worth the possibility of finding out. You might find out more than you expected. As someone wiser than me once said: "Everything I have pursued in life has ended in self-discovery."

So...you should do it...if it goes badly, come back here and we'll cheer you up by telling you why you're so very much better than she deserves. You deserve someone to make you light in the head and giddy in the heart: you're wise beyond your years, you're whip-smart and funny with a universal compassion for others. (I read your blog too.)

P.S. You do this because you're human. It's nature's way of overriding the rational mind...otherwise we'd talk ourselves out of ever taking a chance on anything.

edit: Fixed quote wording.

11. I think it is part of being a teenager
I had those a lot when I was a teen. There really is nothing you can do about, but it sure sucks sometimes.
