Rest in Peace Mama Cat
1986-2008

Yes, that first number is accurate. I don't remember exactly how she came to live with us, she may have just shown up one day. Mama Cat was the matriarch of all of my family's cats. Living out in the country, she was a mostly outdoor cat (until the past few years, when age caught up with her). She had never been spayed, never had a shot, and was the healthiest most awesome cat ever. Master rodent killer and tree climber. She had a funny right eye, from when she got stung by a bee when she was young. Merciless with my knitting yarn. Wonderful snuggler. My Dad will really miss her, she's his bed-mate, when he's home. Sigh.

She passed yesterday, and my Ex buried her in a sunny spot of the yard that she would like.

Rest in Peace, you awesome kitteh. :(

11. Oh bi-baby I'm so sorry
We've got three kittens and their mom on our sun porch right now (about three weeks old).

Sadly I found five abandoned kittens this morning in our woods (I thought I heard crying Friday night and it took me until this morning to find them). Their eyes/noses were all matted and mucus. I tried cleaning up their faces and them feeding them some formula but could tell they were struggling. I took them to the vet about three hours ago and he wasn't very optimistic. He hasn't called me to tell me any news. So I'm not very optimistic.

But I do have three pretty grey kittens that would love to move in with you in about three weeks....if you're lonely.....

Hehe....3 would be a bit much. I do want another kitteh to keep PB company. Haven't made the plunge yet though.

19. I had as Mama cat also, I was there when she was born.
Had to break her birth sack, her mother was busy with the kitten that was born before her.

After that we were tight.

She was the boss of the yard just like your Mama Cat, she was the boss of me.

She died in my arms one Sunday night, when she was 16 years old.

I still miss her.

Bless all the good Mama cats.

22. I'm with you...
Our dear Noel went to sleep 2 weeks ago, and we're still bereft.
They are family members...

Oddly, I've been hearing more and more about pets 'passing' recently.
What's going on?

26. Aw, sorry to hear about Mama Kitty.
:(

One of the most amazing kitties I've ever known was also called Mama Kitty. She was smart as a whip and loved me with an intense obsession. Sigh.
