Apparently I complain too much
On friday at 3pm, when most people in my office were indulging in 40 ounce alcoholic beverages (aren't you supposed to pour it into a glass?) I said to a co-worker that it "smells like a brewery in here".

Now, my supervisor has told me that it was an inappropriate remark.

I want to go to the stairwell and cry right now.

Why would your supervisor say that?? Unless he/she is a big drinker and
took it personally...

4. Hope they carry plenty of liability insurance for the company
in case one of the employees gets too soused and causes a wreck later.

A keg in the company kitchen to celebrate the fact that it's Friday?

5. I've worked someplace like that...
*Work stops at noon on Friday and we'd get a keg or, more often, go to the bar.
*Ping pong table in the meeting room.
*Come to work in your PJs and a tee-shirt if you wanted.
*Halloween costumes on Halloween. Winter Party in January. Pool day in July.
*A lot of staff parties.

Of course that was in the NP sector and we worked damned hard because we didn't just work there...we lived our jobs, often to the tune of 18 hour days for 8 hours pay, sometimes sleeping under the desk. Circle of friends was my coworkers. Work Hard, Play Harder. I'd have never criticized a co-worker who had a problem with any of that though, it wasn't the right scene for everybody.
