Do some GD:P people remind you of crazy sports fans or Star Wars fans?

Some people's brains just turn completely off if a candidate's shortcomings are pointed out. It's not a halfway-decent reply like "that's BS, here's what's wrong with what you said". Instead it's "Oh geez, another bash ____ thread" or "Spoken like a true ____bot"

Seems to me no different than "Fuck you, my team kicks ass!" or "You're full of it, Star Wars rulez!" Canned responses that have nothing to do with the OP--just an automatic generic response if the OP doesn't praise the candidate of choice.

Anyone else see a similar blind loyalty to candidates as to sports teams or the Star Wars franchise?

I mean, geez, I wanted Al Gore, but I'm not screaming "He can still win this, guys!" :+




Disclaimer: Star Wars and Empire Strikes Back were excellent movies. Jedi was lame, the other three were abysmal.




But everyone knows that, right? :)
