I tripped over Erin yesterday...
My tabby male, Erin.

I tripped on him, and rather than fall on Erin, I crashed into my office chair.
Now I have Erin on my lap purring, and a cracked last rib on my right side.
Ow ow ow... :-(

1. I stepped on one of my kitties in the dark a couple months ago.
I instinctively lifted my foot, and fell flat on my face and right side.

My x-rays have run $2000 so far.

The damned cat is fine. :eyes: It's a good thing I love him.

2. Same here.
I didn't want to fall on top of Erin, injuring him.

Instead I crashed into my office chair, and now my right side is all bruised and hurts like hell.

3. Me too. I instinctively didn't want to hurt him when he squealed after I stepped on him.
Since then, I have been booting him in the butt and trying to train him to not be constantly underfoot every time I move about the house.

He's a snarly butt about it, but he's learning. I keep a night lite now too. I do love the little shit dearly, but I swore he was trying to kill me that night, LOL!

4. I think tabbies are more like that than other kitties.
Erin is a very handsome boy. We’ve had Mixed Siamese, Persians, tabbies and tuxedos; and our tabby is most likely to be under foot.

Sorry about your ribs. Take something for the pain so you won’t skimp on breaths.

5. Erin said "Meow"
Translated: Thanks for the compliment. :-)

Erin is really affectionate, and knows how to beg for anything, food, attention, etc. :loveya:

6. Ouch!
I hope you heal up quickly! You're a typical cat owner; looking out for the cat instead of yourself. I just hope Erin knows what a kind buddy he has. (I love tabbies. I have one myself and I'd probably do the same thing).

7. A couple of years ago I tripped over one of my greyhounds
Normally the dog sleeps in the chair at the foot of the bed but for some reason he had decided to move to the floor on my side of the bed while I was in the bathroom. I walked out, tripped over him and, so that I would not fall on him, twisted so that my right side slammed into one of the bed posts. He got up and went back to his chair and I stayed awake in pain. Next morning I had a lovely bruise from my shoulder to my waist and a cracked rib. Truly, I have felt your pain.

10. Thanks.
But Erin did come close to me falling directly on him.
He's fortunate I can think fast in a crisis situation.

13. Erin is one of those "unisex" names, like "Kim" in Asia.
Only Erin is unisex in Ireland, and I got Erin close to St Patrick's day.

Besides, sometimes Erin gets a hairball or eats too fast, then Erin go BRAUGHHH!!! :-)

14. Erin is a rare name in Ireland
and usually only reserved for females. People ask my name in Ireland, I tell them, they chuckle, I don't, then they look confused, they then ask where I'm from, TX says I, then the "oh, you're American" nod. Almost started calling myself by my middle name. I think Erin is the best name in the world.
