Could it be that NBC is about to get a whole lot PERKIER? NBC chief seen leaving Casa Couric

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/05/09/jeff-zucker-spotted-leavi_n_100990.html

Spotted: NBC Universal President & CEO Jeff Zucker leaving the Upper East Side apartment of his once — and future? — network star, Katie Couric. According to Page Six, Zucker was seen "climbing out of his black SUV" in front of Couric's apartment, leading to speculation that Couric may be returning to NBC. Insiders dismissed the rumors, claiming Zucker visited his longtime friend to pick up a Mother's Day gift Couric had bought for him to give his wife, Caryn.

The report of a Zucker-Couric meeting coincides with an interview in the Financial Times, published today, in which Zucker said he would welcome Couric back to NBC:

Katie remains one of the most talented journalists of her generation and somebody who would be an asset to whatever news division, whatever organisation she worked in. So we would always welcome somebody of Katie's ability and stature, but that's not . . . on the cards any time in the near future.

Couric's future has been speculated about ever since it was reported that she will leave CBS well before her contract expires.
