I don't understand, either - everything else seems fine (at least he isn't in dress shoes / wingtips!) - shorts are a good length, polo fits well, has hat, sunglasses, etc. All prepared, except for the socks.

Starbucks dress code for employees specifically mentions that socks which are visible (that is, if you are wearing a skirt or shorts) must be black or a neutral color (not white) and may not be bunched or rolled, nor may they be low-cut or crew-cut.

If you ever go to a Starbucks and your barista is wearing anything other than slacks and isn't looking like the idiot in the OP...give them hell for being out of dress code. It drives us nuts. We're also required to tuck in tee-shirts and to wear undershirts the same color as our collared shirt. It makes us look like we can't dress ourselves.

The 3rd most common complaint to Seattle from partners is the absurdity of the dress code. We've been promised it's going to be changed to be more reasonable, while preserving the professionalism. Hubby has no style whatsoever and could give a rip. We ran up to the local dairy bar for burgers the other day and he was such a fashion plate.

Picture a white some kind of t-shirt, black shorts, white knee socks, and brown slip-on merrills. I mentioned that he needed to move up the short socks from the bottom drawer for summer. He proceeds to make the knee socks into ankle slouchers.

Fashion sense or not, I wouldn't trade him for the world. He is truly one of the best men I've ever known.
