Well this is not good.
I just got back from my personal hematologist. And discovered--my platelets have gone up AGAIN. At Mayo they were 1475. Today they were 1620. Not at all good. That puts me in the danger zone for bleeding risk. AND I've been having some leg (not muscle) pain..that when I mentioned to the doc REALLY concerned him. Gonna keep an eye on that, I assure you. I have also been much more fatigued in the last couple of days.
I still don't have my meds. The doctor's office at Mayo is still trying to get the insurance company to approve it.
My hematologist is a little surprised by me going on interferon, he thinks its a bit strong and I should stay with the older chemo drug Hydrea..I had some vomiting issues that I am not convinced wasn't from the meds. Well we shall see. Have to get the docs to communicate...Frustrating this is.x(

sorry
TZ

I hope they can get the meds approved....

maybe your reg. Doc should call the insurance comp. or the Mayo docs.
This might be the push the Ins. company needs to approve it....

10. ?? I am confused
I'm a platelet donor and the way I understand it is it's a LOW platelet count that causes bleeding, no?

15. This is an odd disease I have
It can cause both bleeding and clotting..One because the platelets made are mal-formed and don't work entirely right.
Also other clotting factore (besides platelets) in the blood aren't made..at least thats the simple explanation for it.
