A Mother's Dilemma
So I have to figure out how to make this work. On Friday May 9th, I have a Mother's Day tea in my daughter's Kindergarten class at 2:00pm. At 2:20pm, my son is having a Mother's Day play in his classroom. The two schools are on the same campus. Any ideas?

6. Ah, but then
I'd make one of you for myself. The idea has its flaws.

4. That's sorta what I was thinking.
Go it a bit early to Kindy class and explain. Hopefully I can manage both. Thank goodness my oldest doesn't have anything going on that day! That would be Mission Impossible.

20. What were those teachers thinking?
MB has good advice; get to the tea a wee bit early and bring your daughter with you to the play.

5. Can you go to the tea and then take your daughter to see your son's play?
That way you get to spend the time with both of them.

8. That's a good idea too.
Taking the little one with me after the tea. I would hate to leave her with all her friends and their mothers.

Thanks!

12. You have 12 days to convince them to reschedule the tea
:D

Good luck with that.

14. Honestly, with a child cast the play's probably not going to be good
whereas at the tea party there will probably be some Chips Ahoy! and other assorted goodies, plus tea and coffee. I mean, you can't beat free cookies, right?

My advice would be to blow off the play and chow down. Make it up to your son by bringing him some cookies from the tea party so he knows you still love him.

16. Hehe
Well you are correct about it not being "good", but I think my son would never forgive me. LoL.

17. Have you talked to the teachers about the scheduling conflict?
You could explain to them, very nicely, the nature of your dilemma. Then, if that doesn't resolve the problem, bust some heads.

21. Ask your kids what they think a good solution would be...
Sounds like your kids are old enough to be part of this discussion - let them know you'd like to attend both, but that you may need to leave the tea in order to attend the play - find out what they think a good compromise might be. Taking your daughter to the play sounds like a good idea to throw out, if they can't think of any. :)

23. That would have been no dilemma for my mother.
She would be able to take a day off for that.

Go to one, be a little late tot he other.
